Vegan Mushroom Steak
Begin Vegan there are still amazing options to bring to your summer BBQ. This is the fastest and easiest way with very minimal prep. You can even pick up mushrooms on your way to the BBQ!
Ingredients: (Serves 4)
4 portobello mushrooms
4 cloves of garlic
1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
Pinch of salt and pepper
Optional:
¼ cup BBQ sauce

Method:
1) Preheat your oven to 170° Celsius fan bake.
2) Prepare your mushrooms by removing the stalk, you can use a knife or twist them out.
3) Crush your garlic as finely as you can and combine with the salt, pepper, and extra virgin olive oil to make your glaze (and BBQ sauce if wanted).
4) Brush the mushrooms with your glaze and place on a ceramic baking dish. Place your Mushrooms in an oven and bake for 30 minutes, flipping after 20 minutes.
5) For the final steak affect seer the tops on a hot skillet for 2 minutes.
Serving suggestions:
This is a great option to take to a BBQ with friends, pair in a burger or serve with pasta and a cashew cream sauce. Another option is a simple side salad and roast vegetables.
No doubt your friends will be impressed!
This is best eaten fresh but can be stored in the fridge for 2 days.
